Workshop – ‘DESIGNING a decolonised fahacs’

Designing A Decolonised FAHACS

Do you feel hypervisible as the only black or ethnic minority in the room?

Join Buyers Remorse in designing a decolonised School of Fine Art, History of Arts and Cultural Studies (FAHACS). Together we will dismantle and design our educational experience.

This online workshop will be a safe and solutions-focused space open to those who identify as an ethnic minority group. We will work together to create institutional changed by designing a level-playing field in our community and curriculum.

This workshop will be led by Abiha Khan, former elected Education Officer at Leeds University Union.

Abiha’s campaigns centre on the educational attainment of Black and Minority Ethnic groups, decolonising the curriculum and enabling racial equality through education policy. Currently employed by the educational charity IntoUniversity, Abiha cares deeply about racial justice and social inclusion, and is driven by the opportunities that education offers to shape and grow individuals, both academically and socially.

All you need to bring is a pen, paper and your lovely selves!
